Budiman joined Nurjadin Sumono Mulyadi & Partners (NSMP) in 2024 following his graduation from the Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia, where he majored in Business Law. His undergraduate thesis examined a fraud case in the Indonesian capital market. During his studies, he also served as Director of the Business Law Society at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Indonesia in 2023.

At NSMP, Budiman focuses his practice on aviation, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), capital markets, energy and infrastructure projects, and general corporate matters. He has advised on the reverse takeover of an Indonesian listed company and its subsequent transformation into an energy-focused holding company serving as an investment vehicle for a local partner in Waste-to-Energy projects. He has also advised the local partner on the structuring of a joint venture with a Chinese strategic partner and supported the development of two Waste-to-Energy projects in Indonesia.

Budiman’s aviation practice includes representing aircraft lessors in connection with aircraft leasing transactions involving various Indonesian operators, as well as lessor novation transactions. His experience includes advising on compliance with Indonesian aircraft registration requirements, the registration of International Registry interests through IDERA and the establishment and registration of fiduciary security interests, and preparing legal opinions concerning the registration and ownership of aircraft under Indonesian law. He has also advised an Indonesian operator on aircraft charter arrangements supporting operations in the oil and gas and mining industries.

In his M&A practice, Budiman has advised on a range of transactions, including assisting a Thai-listed electricity company, a Singapore-based investment fund, and an Indonesian company in the acquisition of an Indonesian foreign investment company engaged in solar photovoltaic projects. He has also assisted an Indonesian company in the indirect acquisition of an Indonesian gold-mining company through the acquisition of its Singapore holding company. His experience includes conducting legal due diligence in connection with acquisitions involving companies in the oil and gas and renewable energy sectors, preparing and negotiating transaction documents, and monitoring the satisfaction and fulfilment of conditions precedent.

In addition, Budiman has assisted a Korean company in establishing and developing a waste treatment business in Indonesia, including advising on regulatory compliance and licensing requirements, structuring and documenting commercial arrangements, and negotiating agreements with customers and third-party vendors.

Budiman completed the Special Education for the Advocate Profession (Pendidikan Khusus Profesi Advokat or “PKPA”) in 2024 and passed the Indonesian Bar Examination (Ujian Profesi Advokat or “UPA”) in 2025.
