Irawati Chandra started her career at Nurjadin Sumono Mulyadi & Partners (NSMP) in 2007 and became Partner in 2012 until July 2021. From August 2021, She focused on Intellectual Property as Of-Counsel. She graduated from University of Indonesia with a degree in law in 1990 and immediately pursued her professional career as a practicing lawyer at Otto Cornelis Kaligis & Associates and continued to enhance her skills as a corporate lawyer at SSEK Indonesian Legal Consultants.
Irawati Chandra has passion for defending clients'rights and interests in various cases, including civil, commercial and administrative law, employment and industrial relation disputes as well as arbitration cases. As a listed capital market legal consultant, she renders her expertise in assisting clients for right issue and initial public offering projects.
Irawati Chandra is also an Intellectual Property (IP) Law practitioner to strengthen the firm’s area of law practices. Supporting IP components in M&As, joint ventures, commercial transactions, licensing and franchising; developing and implementing strategy to assess and protect clients’ IP consistent with its identified commercial value. She is particularly skilled and experienced in administrative registration, protection and enforcement of a wide range of IP rights, including trademarks, copyright, industrial design and patents. She advises on IP enforcement strategies in multifarious industries and has considerable experience in handling IP litigation, cancellation of unlawful registered trademarks, criminal raids, confiscation of counterfeit goods, customs seizure and unfair competition.
Irawati Chandra is qualified under the Module Capital Market Studies Program (CMSP), organized by Chairman of Capital Market Supervising Board, Department of Finance and Capital Market Consultant Association (1996) and under the Intellectual Property Rights (Trademark, Copy Right and related Rights, Industrial Design, Trade Secret, Integrated Circuit Design, Patent and Patent Drafting), organized by Faculty of Law, the University of Indonesia and the General Directorate of Intellectual Property Rights, Department of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia (2005).
She is a member of Indonesian Advocates Association (Perhimpunan Advokat Indonesia – PERADI), Capital Market Legal Consultant Association (Himpunan Konsultan Hukum Pasar Modal – HKHPM), Indonesian Intellectual Property Rights Consultant Association (Asosiasi Konsultan Hak Kekayaan Intelektual Indonesia – AKHKI) and Indonesian Labor Law Consultant Association (Himpunan Konsultan Hukum Ketenagakerjaan Indonesia-ILLCA/HKHKI).
