Mutiara graduated from the Faculty of Law, Universitas Sriwijaya, where she majored in Civil Law. She subsequently obtained a Master of Notary degree from Universitas Indonesia. She has over 11 years of legal experience, comprising more than nine years in private practice and nearly two years of in-house experience.
Mutiara is a Senior Associate at Nurjadin Sumono Mulyadi & Partners (NSMP). Her practice focuses on corporate and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), foreign investment, employment and industrial relations, regulatory compliance, and real estate matters.
Her corporate and M&A practice encompasses acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate restructurings, and strategic investments. She has advised multinational and domestic clients on transactions valued at up to approximately IDR 200 billion, including cross-border acquisitions involving Indonesian companies in the manufacturing sector. Her experience spans the full transaction lifecycle, from structuring and legal due diligence through negotiation, signing, closing, and post-closing implementation. She advises clients on key legal, regulatory, and commercial considerations, leads the preparation and negotiation of principal transaction documents, and manages the legal workstreams required to bring transactions to completion.
Beyond transactional matters, Mutiara advises foreign investors on establishing and operating businesses in Indonesia. Her work covers market-entry strategies, ownership and capital structures, corporate governance, and the regulatory framework applicable to the client’s proposed and existing operations. She works closely with clients to navigate regulatory issues and develop legally sound, commercially practical solutions that support their investment and business objectives.
In her employment and industrial relations practice, Mutiara advises companies on a broad range of matters, including employment agreements, company regulations, collective labour agreements, outsourcing arrangements, workforce restructuring, disciplinary action, employee termination, retirement, workplace investigations, and expatriate employment. She also represents and assists clients in bipartite negotiations and industrial dispute resolution proceedings before the relevant manpower authorities.
Before rejoining NSMP, Mutiara worked as an Employee Relations Specialist at PT Nestlé Indonesia. Her in-house experience gave her a practical understanding of workforce management and the commercial considerations involved in implementing employment policies, managing employee relations, and resolving workplace issues within a multinational organisation.
Mutiara has also delivered workshops and seminars on employment and industrial relations matters for management teams and human resources professionals. Her sessions cover practical workplace issues and are designed to help participants understand and apply Indonesian employment laws in their day-to-day operations.
In addition, Mutiara advises clients on land and building matters, including the review and negotiation of lease agreements, land-title and ownership issues, building approvals, and operational licences. Her broader regulatory experience includes advising on personal data protection and cross-border data transfers, sector-specific licensing, and compliance matters affecting manufacturing and other business operations.
Her experience spans a variety of industries, including manufacturing, fast-moving consumer goods, mining, logistics, technology, and other regulated sectors. She regularly works with management, human resources, finance, tax, compliance, and operational teams to provide advice that is legally sound, commercially practical, and capable of being implemented within the client’s business.
Mutiara serves in the Industrial Relations Division of the Indonesian Society of Human Resources Management (Perhimpunan Manajemen Sumber Daya Manusia Indonesia or PMSM Indonesia). She is also a member of the Indonesian Advocates Association (Perhimpunan Advokat Indonesia or PERADI).
